Компания Namecheap пережила второй сбой в работе хостинга за 13 дней, затронувший 78 общих серверов.

Namecheap experienced two hosting outages within 13 days in August 2026. The first disrupted several major services after a data center cooling failure. The second affected 78 shared hosting servers, although Namecheap has not disclosed what caused it.

The incidents were different in scale and cause. However, their close timing raises questions about infrastructure redundancy and how much operational information hosting customers receive after an outage.

What Happened During the Two Namecheap Outages?

Incident #1 – August 13, 2026

Namecheap’s first outage began on August 13 at the RadiusDC data center in Phoenix. A major storm caused the facility’s cooling systems to fail, pushing temperatures around Namecheap’s equipment to critical levels.

RadiusDC instructed Namecheap to shut down affected infrastructure to prevent hardware damage. The outage disrupted Namecheap.com, shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, EasyWP, Private Email, DNS management, billing operations, and customer support.

Namecheap clarified that existing DNS records continued resolving. However, customers could not manage their DNS settings during the incident. Some websites became unavailable or returned errors, while affected email customers could not send or immediately receive messages.

Namecheap restored the services in stages after temporary chillers reduced facility temperatures. The company later said it would add more redundancy across its data centers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The provider also corrected earlier reports that had wrongly connected the incident to phoenixNAP.

Incident #1 – August 26, 2026

A second incident followed on August 26. Namecheap’s status update listed 78 affected shared hosting servers across its Business, Premium, and regular server groups.

The status post opened at 20:25 UTC. Namecheap reported the servers running again at 21:10 UTC and marked the incident resolved at 22:45 UTC. The incident therefore remained open for two hours and 20 minutes, although the actual disruption may have started earlier. Namecheap did not publish a cause in the status updates.

A second incident followed on August 26. Namecheap’s status update listed 78 affected shared hosting servers across its Business, Premium, and regular server groups.

Were the Two Namecheap Outages Connected?

No evidence currently connects the two Namecheap outages. The August 13 incident originated from a documented cooling failure, while the August 26 incident affected a narrower group of shared servers.

Namecheap has not identified a data center, hardware component, network problem, or software fault behind the second outage. Customers should therefore avoid assuming that both incidents share the same root cause.

The missing explanation still matters. A status page tells customers when services fail, but a post-incident report explains whether the provider has identified and corrected the underlying risk.

What Should Hosting Customers Learn From These Incidents?

Web hosting customers should treat uptime as one part of a wider continuity plan. A website, email system, DNS service, and support portal can depend on overlapping infrastructure even when they appear as separate products.

Business websites should keep independent backups outside their web hosting account. High-value sites can also separate авторитетный DNS и деловая электронная почта from their web hosting provider. This reduces the chance that one provider incident removes every recovery and communication channel at once.

Two incidents do not establish Namecheap’s long-term reliability. However, the August outages give customers a valid reason to watch Namecheap’s status history, promised redundancy improvements, and any detailed post-incident findings published next.
