DreamHost has opened its first international data center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This move, according to the company, improves hosting performance for users in Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East while offering better compliance options.

The new facility joins DreamHost’s existing U.S. data centers in Ashburn, Virginia, and Hillsboro, Oregon. By hosting data closer to international customers and integrating with its CDN, DreamHost expects to improve site speed and reliability.

Our new Amsterdam data center is a milestone in DreamHost’s ongoing mission to deliver premium hosting experiences wherever our customers do business. With Amsterdam now fully operational, customers worldwide can expect improved performance and greater control over their data.

Patrick Lane, Senior VP of Infrastructure at DreamHost, described the expansion as a major step in improving global hosting performance. He emphasized that the new data center will give customers more control over their data and a better overall experience.

New DreamPress customers in Europe will now have their sites hosted in Amsterdam by default. Existing users who want to migrate can contact DreamHost’s support team.
