HostPapa, Inc., a Canada-based web hosting and cloud services provider, announced on August 25th, 2025 that it has completed the acquisition of CloudBlue from Ingram Micro (NYSE: INGM). The deal strengthens HostPapa’s channel partner division under the Hostopia brand and builds on the company’s earlier move to secure a USD $130 million senior secured credit facility led by BMO.

What the Acquisition Means for HostPapa and Its Customers?

HostPapa expands its cloud services portfolio by combining CloudBlue’s commerce, automation, and marketplace technology with Hostopia’s service delivery platform. CloudBlue’s system supports more than 450 pre-built integrations, which automate provisioning, subscription billing, and orchestration across multi-tier partner ecosystems.

For HostPapa, this means a stronger ability to serve telcos, managed service providers, resellers, distributors, ISVs, and hyperscalers. For customers, it opens up faster access to cloud products and services, backed by a platform designed to scale subscriptions and simplify partner enablement.

This also positions HostPapa as a growing player in the cloud hosting market, where providers scale workloads, distribute services globally, and automate billing cycles to support business growth (Learn more about best cloud hosting providers and how they compare).

New Executive Appointments at CloudBlue

As part of the transaction, HostPapa has appointed Jorge Carvalho as CEO of CloudBlue and Tarik Faouzi as its General Manager.

Carvalho, who also serves as HostPapa’s President, brings over 20 years of experience in the cloud services industry, with a track record of aligning strategy with growth and customer outcomes. Faouzi, returning to CloudBlue after leaving in 2022, brings continuity and deep knowledge of the platform’s partner ecosystem.

Jamie Opalchuk, Founder and CEO of HostPapa, emphasized the vision behind the move:

“This acquisition unlocks significant opportunities in cloud commerce, partner enablement, and ISV distribution. We’re proud to bring CloudBlue’s innovative vision back to its roots in the cloud services industry and continue redefining what a modern enablement platform should look like.”

— Jamie Opalchuk, HostPapa CEO

Why This Move Matters in the Hosting and Cloud Market?

The acquisition signals HostPapa’s strategy to move beyond traditional web hosting into enterprise-grade cloud enablement. By combining CloudBlue’s automation with Hostopia’s delivery, HostPapa now supports variable metered pricing, outcome-based billing, and faster time-to-market for partners.

According to Jorge Carvalho, the synergy between HostPapa and CloudBlue is clear. “This allows us to expand our product suite, strengthen subscription and pricing capabilities for our customers, and leverage each other’s strengths to provide a best-in-class platform,”, said the new CEO of CloudBlue.

For hosting buyers and partners, this means greater flexibility to package, sell, and monetize cloud services through direct hosting solutions or integrated reseller platforms.
