Is NameCheap Any Good? Our Opinion

NameCheap offers budget-friendly hosting alongside its domain services. The hosting plans are affordable and reliable enough for small websites, blogs, or personal projects. However, limited server resources and slower support response times can become obstacles for power users that expect premium performance.

Who’s it best for? NameCheap is a good choice for beginners, personal websites, and anyone who wants the convenience of managing domains and hosting under one account.

NameCheap Pros & Cons

NameCheap Pros

  • Budget-friendly shared hosting plans with free domain and SSL
  • Competitive domain pricing with free lifetime privacy protection
  • Free site migration for new customers
  • Developer-friendly environment with Perl, Ruby, and Python support on shared hosting

NameCheap Cons

  • Intro prices increase at renewal, sometimes doubling
  • VPS plans are raw and unmanaged — control panels and management add significant extra cost
  • Extra fee to host in UK instead of default US data center
  • Weak security on shared hosting

NameCheap is a US-based company founded in 2000. It started as a domain registrar and has grown to become one of the largest in the world, managing millions of domains. Alongside domains, NameCheap also provides shared hosting, VPS, email services, SSL certificates, and managed WordPress hosting. Its focus has remained on affordability and accessibility, especially for individuals and small businesses looking for simple online solutions.

Is NameCheap a good web host?

NameCheap Review - Website Screenshot

NameCheap provides affordable hosting with features that suit beginners and small websites. Its shared hosting plans include a free domain, unmetered bandwidth, SSL, and bundled email services — a package that appeals to personal website owners looking for convenience.

Performance and support are acceptable but limited. For basic sites, uptime and speed are reasonable, but NameCheap does not allocate the same level of resources or optimization you’ll find at specialized hosting providers. Support is available 24/7, yet users often report longer wait times for complex issues, which may be a concern if consistent uptime is critical.

Ease of use is a strength. The platform runs on cPanel, the shared plans pricing is straightforward, and there is little aggressive upselling. For those who want domains and hosting in one place, NameCheap simplifies management without extra overhead.

How reliable is NameCheap’s uptime and speed?

NameCheap shared hosting delivers basic reliability but limited speed features. In our research, uptime generally stays above 99.9%, which is sufficient for small websites. However, the entry-level plans provide minimal performance enhancements, making them less suitable for demanding workloads.

The technology stack is dated on lower tiers. All servers run on Apache/LiteSpeed, but features like HTTP/2 are not enabled by default. Caching tools such as Memcached are restricted to the highest Stellar Business plan, leaving entry users with little optimization.

Extra acceleration comes at a cost. NameCheap promotes its Supersonic CDN as a speed booster, but this requires a separate subscription starting at $8.88/month, which is more expensive than the hosting plan itself. For budget-conscious users, this undermines the low-cost appeal of the shared hosting line.

Does NameCheap keep your websites secure?

NameCheap provides only basic security on its shared hosting plans. All tiers include ClamAV antivirus scanning, which helps detect malicious files, but that is the main safeguard available to entry-level users.

Advanced protections are restricted to higher plans. Standard shared plans do not come with DDoS mitigation or a web application firewall (WAF). Imunify360 Security, which adds real-time malware defense, patch management, and proactive threat blocking, is only available on the top-tier Stellar Business plan.

For most NameCheap shared hosting customers, NameCheap’s protection is minimal. While ClamAV covers basic malware detection, the absence of DDoS defense, WAF, and broader security tools means users are responsible for adding their own safeguards. Overall, security on NameCheap’s lower shared plans falls behind competitors that bundle stronger protection by default.

How helpful is NameCheap’s customer support?

NameCheap Support Page

NameCheap offers 24/7 support, but response quality varies. Customers can reach the team via live chat and a ticketing system. While the live chat is quick to connect, more complex issues often require escalation and longer wait times.

Knowledge base and self-help resources are strong. NameCheap maintains extensive guides and tutorials covering domain management, hosting setup, and troubleshooting. For many beginners, these resources reduce the need to contact support directly.

User experiences are mixed. Simple requests, like domain settings or billing questions, are usually handled efficiently. However, technical hosting problems, such as performance tuning or advanced configuration, can take time to resolve, which frustrates users running business-critical sites.

Is NameCheap’s pricing worth the value?

NameCheap shared hosting is cheap upfront, but the value depends on your needs. The entry Stellar plan starts at under $1.48/mo for the first year and renews at $4.48/mo. It includes a free domain, SSL, and email — good value for basic sites or beginners who want everything bundled. However, performance features like caching and CDN acceleration are locked behind higher plans or paid add-ons, which dilutes the long-term savings.

NameCheap VPS hosting looks affordable at first glance but adds hidden costs. The Pulsar plan starts at $6.88/mo for 2 vCPU and 2 GB RAM. But this ‘raw’ VPS comes unmanaged with no control panel installed (see screenshot below). Adding Webuzo or cPanel licenses can increase the price to over $100 – $400 annually. Managed support costs another $120–$300 per year, making the total price far less competitive than it appears.

What do users think about NameCheap?

Overall, user feedback with Namecheap appears to be positive. Customers appreciate the excellent support and cheap services provided by the company. However, some NameCheap users have encountered choppy waters. In particular, some users are unhappy with Namecheap’s built-in website builder tool, the need for separate payments for different services, and navigating the complexities of refunds. These aspects are crucial vital points to consider when choosing your hosting plans at NameCheap.

For additional insights, please refer to user reviews section below.

Is NameCheap a good option for beginners?

NameCheap is beginner-friendly for simple websites. For less than $2 to kick off with, Its shared hosting plans include a free domain, SSL, and email, so first-time users can get a site online without extra purchases. The platform runs on cPanel, which is widely documented and easy to learn.

NameCheap Shared Hosting Pricing

Is NameCheap a good choice for small businesses?

No, NameCheap is not well-suited for small businesses. The host current ranks #34 out of more than 40 hosting providers we reviewed at HostScore. While its prices are low, the hosting lacks performance features, strong security, and scalability. Advanced tools like caching, CDN, or automated backups cost extra or are only available on the top plan.

Is NameCheap suitable for web developers?

NameCheap’s VPS can appeal to developers who want a cheap raw server. The plans are unmanaged and bare, so you get full control at a low monthly cost. If you’re comfortable configuring everything from scratch and don’t mind the lack of a control panel, NameCheap can be a workable sandbox.

But there are better alternatives. Modern cloud providers like DigitalOcean or Kamatera offer similarly priced entry servers with far more scalability, global data centers, and developer-friendly ecosystems. For most developers, these options make more sense than settling for NameCheap’s limited VPS line.

In short, NameCheap’s may suit hobbyists or developers who just want the lowest price, but it is not the best choice for serious projects. Better providers deliver the same flexibility with stronger infrastructure and growth potential.

Can you host custom email with NameCheap?

Yes, you can host your own email accounts with NameCheap. This significantly reduces your costs by eliminating the need for expensive third-party email services.

How easy is it to get started with NameCheap?

Most Namecheap services are instantaneously available upon payment. Once you’ve made your selections, payment can be made using credit/debit cards, PayPal or Bitcoin. In fact, Namecheap was among the earlier adopters of Bitcoin web hosting.

Making payment will trigger their system to send you your account details. This will contain all the information you need to get started with them.

Does NameCheap offer a free trial or refund guarantee?

Yes, NameCheap offers a 30-day free trial period. If you are not satisfied with their services for any reason, you can cancel within this period and receive a full refund.

What features does NameCheap include?

Which control panel does NameCheap use?

NameCheap uses cPanel as its main hosting control panel. cPanel manages domains, email accounts, databases, and backups from one interface. Most users find it familiar and easy to navigate, which makes onboarding smoother if you’ve hosted elsewhere before.

That said, cPanel has seen regular price hikes since its acquisition, and hosting providers often pass these costs down to customers. If you’re on a VPS or reseller plan, keep in mind that your monthly bill may rise as license fees increase.

Where are NameCheap’s servers located?

Namecheap operates data centers in the USA, UK, Singapore, and the Netherlands. Hosting in the USA reduces response time for North American visitors, while servers in Europe improve speed for nearby customers. This mix of regions makes Namecheap a good fit if you serve audiences across both sides of the Atlantic. If your audience is global, pairing Namecheap’s servers with a CDN helps deliver consistent performance worldwide.

Does NameCheap scale well with traffic spikes?

Namecheap does not scale well on shared hosting because accounts face multiple hard limits. For example, Stellar Plus caps file counts at 300,000, while RAM and CPU are shared with neighbors. Email sending is restricted (50 messages per hour on Stellar), and disk I/O limits can slow performance under concurrent requests. Multimedia files cannot exceed 10 GB of total account space. These policies mean even moderate traffic spikes may result in throttling or downtime.

Our market research shows that scaling improves only when moving beyond shared hosting. Namecheap’s VPS and dedicated plans allocate guaranteed CPU and RAM, removing the shared bottlenecks that limit concurrency. For sites expecting bursts of traffic, upgrading to these tiers is essential to maintain stable performance during spikes.

How does NameCheap handle backups and restores?

NameCheap provides weekly backups. This is fine for static sites but may be limiting for busy eCommerce or LMS setups. Restores are available through the control panel.

Does NameCheap include free domain and SSL?

NameCheap includes a free domain name with all shared hosting plan. This helps beginners start a website without extra cost.

Every site hosted with NameCheap includes a free SSL certificate, ensuring encrypted connections and baseline site security at no extra cost. This saves users both the expense and the hassle of purchasing and configuring SSL separately.

Does NameCheap offer free website migration?

Yes, NameCheap offers free website migration. The migration service transfers your files, databases, and email accounts from your old host to NameCheap without extra cost. This saves time for beginners and reduces the risk of errors when switching providers. Free migration is especially useful if you run WordPress, WooCommerce, or other CMS-based sites that require careful handling.

How much does NameCheap cost?

NameCheap offers multiple hosting types, including Shared, VPS, Dedicated, and Reseller Hosting. Prices vary depending on features like server storage, memory, addon security protections, and contract length.

NameCheap Plans & Pricing

Hosting Type Signup Price Renewal Price
Shared Hosting $1.48 – $4.98/mo $4.48 – $9.48/mo
VPS Hosting $6.88 – $24.88/mo $9.88 – $28.88/mo
Dedicated Hosting $40.57 – $150.91/mo $59.88 – $251.88/mo
WordPress Hosting $4.07 – $8.24/mo $9.88 – $26.88/mo

What Should You Know About NameCheap’s Pricing Structure?

NameCheap uses a signup-renewal pricing model. Plans appear cheap at signup ($1.48/mo for basic shared hosting), but renewal prices rise to the standard rate ($4.48/mo). You should compare both signup and renewal costs to understand long-term value.

Note: Because hosting fees change regularly, always confirm the latest NameCheap prices on the official site before signing up..

Final verdict: Should you choose NameCheap?

NameCheap remains best known for domain registration, not hosting. Its hosting services are affordable and simple, making them suitable for beginners and personal websites. Shared plans include unmetered bandwidth, bundled email, and a cPanel interface — enough to get a small site online without technical friction. Managing domains and hosting under one account is convenient if you’re already a NameCheap customer.

The drawbacks are clear. Server resources are limited, performance features like caching and CDN cost extra, and support can be slower compared to hosting-first providers. VPS hosting, while cheap on paper, is raw and unmanaged; once you add a control panel or management, the cost quickly outweighs the value.

Our take: NameCheap is serviceable if you want the lowest-cost option for a personal blog or small project, especially if domain management is your main priority. But with a below-average HostScore rating and stronger competitors in the market, we do not recommend it for those who needs scalable, performance-driven hosting.

User Reviews of NameCheap

  1. Yes, Recommended

I have had good experiences with Namecheap. I started with them after getting tired of the excessive upselling on GoDaddy. Since then, I have been transferring domains as they come up for renewal. I use Namecheap mostly for domains, but I also use their EasyWP managed WordPress service, which has worked great so far. Support is primarily by email, but they have always been responsive. Also note that Namecheap has deep operational ties to Ukraine in both solidarity and staffing. They seem to be a good company to me.

  2. No, Not Recommended

Namecheap set up 2FA on my account. When I tried to reset it after changing phones, they repeatedly sent verification emails that never arrived — and refused to take responsibility.

I went through at least 10 rounds of copy-paste apologies (“I’m sorry, I understand your frustration”) with offshore support reps, each time starting over from scratch. Escalation requests went nowhere. They would not call me, they would not accept alternative verification, and they ignored the fact that I had already submitted a government ID and passed their facial scan verification.

Instead of resolving the issue, they passed me from one rep to another, each asking for the same information I had already provided. It felt less like incompetence and more like a deliberate game of wearing the customer down — as if wasting my time was part of the process.

Result: I was locked out of my account for days, my website risked downtime, and my business suffered.

Bottom line: Do NOT trust this company with anything mission-critical. They have no concept of real customer care, no accountability, and no urgency. If you value your time, money, and online presence, choose another provider.

I’ve been using this hosting platform for a while now, and one thing that stands out is their customer support. Every single time I run into an issue, no matter how big or small, they’re always quick to respond and resolve it. The support team is not only fast but also knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. It’s reassuring to know that if something goes wrong, I won’t be left figuring it out on my own. Highly recommend if you value responsive and dependable support!

  4. Yes, Recommended

I’ve been a Namecheap customer now for 5 years, in that time I’ve had no real issues. About 6 months ago they migrated my hosting new a new UK data centre which has resolved the minimal downtime I did experience and now I hardly receive any notifications from my monitoring services which is fantastic.

In the past week I’ve had to contact support for 2 separate issues, one a database issue (caused by myself being impatient) and the other an email deliverability issue. On both occasions support has been fantastic, they’ve been thorough with their diagnosis of the issues, advised me on better practices (I should just be more patient IMHO) and resolves the issues.

I host several websites through them and I’ve never had any major issues and I have no hesitation in renewing with them and recommending other users to them as they offer the same as most other providers for a fraction of the price! Having been with, and migrated to and from in the past, including 2 of the worlds biggest hosting companies, Namecheap just make life easy and give you control of your hosting with cPanel unlike other providers

This was the toughest issue I ever had, forgetting all the information to login. The agent was amazing, she showed patience. My account is restored. Thank you for the great experience I had with her.

  6. No, Not Recommended

I missed paying my renewal because of a long illness, and they put my domain name on a kind of suspension, freeze for months.
I sent them multiple messages explaining and asking if I could pay, and apologised. But their multiple replies were, Please explain (which I did, so many times), and Please login and pay (which I tried so many times). Without success.
After months of trying and sending them messages, I gave up.
Now they want 30X what I had initially paid.
For an unusual domain name that will never be bought. But they are betting on me buying it again. Thats what they do. Disgusting company.
Its an absolute con, and terrible way to treat customers.
    Stay clear of Namecheap.

    Update to Namecheaps response below.
Take a hike Namecheap. You didnt want to help me when I sent endless messages to you for months. And now you are going to help me?
You have caused so many problems for me, locking my domain name out. And now wanting a fortune for it. Disgusting.

Be very careful and check your bank statements! I was vigilant when I set my accounts up with them and registered domain names – I made sure to untick auto-renew for all offers, which I have proof off – and yet, I was massively overcharged by this company. Trying to close my accounts with them and get reimbursements asap.

I turned off domain auto-renewal, but they still did it. When I contacted support, they admitted it was a bug on their part and offered me a FULL refund on my card. Then they said they could only refund for one domain because the other one was a premium domain. I sincerely don’t understand why I am losing money because of a mistake by their crooked programmers and dumbass management.

    Bonjour,

Faites très attention : ce sont des voleurs et des escrocs. J’ai acheté trois domaines différents, tous bloqués sans raison, et je n’ai reçu aucun remboursement. Je vous les déconseille vivement.

The ONLY issue was that it took three people before I got the information I needed, but that’s not a huge deal. Once the right person was working with me, he gave me links to exactly the procedures I needed to perform. He even gave me several choices, and one of them was dead easy. I’ve always had great experience with Namecheap support so far, and I expect to in the future.

I had Namecheap previously and left for a “better” offer. I got tired of that company “nickeling and diming” me to death. Namecheap is straightforward with their pricing, which I appreciate. I’m not the most technologically literate but their customer support staff never get tired of my questions and help me to get done what I need to do. I’m much happier!

  41. No, Not Recommended

Worst experience ever. Stay away from them!

I registered to obtain a new domain. Registration, creditcard payment and activation on new domain done in minutes. So far so good. (Servers & clients configured while waiting for DNS propagation. All working in <1hour.)

But then, about 2hrs after registration my account was blocked. Redirected to a livechat via a link below. They cannot help, have to go via email as it's a "risk management issue". Got a mail that I need to verify my account within 24hrs, otherwise my order will be cancelled.
Asked for method to validate. The requested a code from the creditcard statement within 24hrs, otherwise I will be cancelled. (This threat was actually in every mail.)
After calling my bank and creditcard company I learned that it will appear after 1-2days ("up to 48hrs"). Namecheap does not care. Need to present the code from the payment or I will be cancelled.

Asked *multiple times* for other methods to validate my identity. Then got a link to an external ID service (veriff.me) with a list of accepted documents i.e. a passport. Went through the process, got successfully verified by veriff and reported back to Namecheap. Only answer: We cannot accept that, and I got a new link. Again, went through the whole process, and again got confirmation of a successful validation of my ID.
But, again they refuse to accept and again threaten that I will be cancelled if I don't get verified within the 24hr window.

So, I ask why they won't accept my validation - done already twice successfully! Reply from Namecheap is: They won't tell me "why" they won't accept my successful validation done by the service they sent me to: Because of data protection laws!

So, after all this, they went back to "we need the statement from the credit card payment". (Which the bank does not provide immediately!)

Plus, though it becomes almost irrelevant after all this:
    - They keep writing your name wrong.
    - There is never a name in a mail to you have a reference who you spoke to.
    - There is always someone else answering, not really aware of previous communication it seems. (Also evident from the fact that the previous mail/communication is always cut off in a reply.)
    - Every email says they are sorry for the "inconvenience"... which makes it even worse when they are not really helping, not following their own processes.

So, all in all. The worst "new customer experience" I had to face EVER. Best recommendation: Stay away from this company! Or, learn through pain yourself.

Consistently the WORST customer service experience I ever had in my life, on 5 different chat conversations, several weeks apart, each! May be cheap, but not at all worth the headache of begging for support that wont come….

  45. No, Not Recommended

Do not use this platform. I purchased a domain for over £5,000. They took the money from my account, then a day later informed me the order and domain was cancelled and that I would receive a refund within 10 business days all by an automated email. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, I’ll lose hundreds of £s. No real person has contacted me. They took my money without providing the product. Communication is limited to an AI chat and repetitive automated email responses. This is completely unacceptable. Spend the extra money with GoDaddy or another reputable, secure provider. Shocking company.

this is my experience after many days of search. so either they scam by using bots that value some domains to resell. or their system is not updated.

    Very shady auction system.

I won an auction at namecheap, they took 5 days to send me the payment inquiry because they told me the domain was from one of their “partner” so they had to transfer it I guess and it took 5 days.

When I finally paid the inquiry after 5 days, I noticed the “registerd on” date change on the domain which shouldn’t have because thats one of the main reason I am purchasing a domain from the auction to keep the original registered date.

That means the domain expired, which means ANYBODY could’ve registered that domain even if I won the auction on their site. Have I been more aware, even I could’ve went to any domain registar and simply register the domain for the extension cost without having to pay a the auction price.

That is fraudulent to say the least.
Absolutely illegal and not how auction system should work.

I will never in this life time use their service or any affiliated service with them.

I’ve recently been automatically charged by Namecheap for 10 domain names that I haven’t used for at least 8-10 months, and I was advised that there was no way for me to receive a refund. This is despite the automatic charge of $AUD500 being made on 23 December and me making contact on 28 December, without even factoring in that it’s the Christmas period. The service that I received was both uncaring and inflexible, to say the least. It was also a significant mark-up from the AUD$78 that I paid for the 10 domain names around 12 months earlier – a nice profit for Namecheap without doing anything. I’d be really careful before you sign up to use domains through Namecheap – they are way more focused on making money than providing a quality, personalised service based on specific customer needs and situations. It’s a scam.

They literally will sell and won’t suspend hundreds of domains for websites that use AI to “undress” people without their consent. This has already become a crime pretty much worldwide, but they claim that “since they’re not the hosting company”, they “can’t” do anything.

It’s completely possible for them to put the domains on clientHold to avoid more people using those websites, bit they don’t want to because they earn money from them.

Even though I was nervous and less than ideal to communicate with, they were patient and completely calm, and thanks to their help I suffered no data loss in the migration. Almost everything except some DNS was ready to go for all my cPanel accounts. It was the most trouble-free migration I have ever experienced. Thank you Namecheap.

Their FastVPN is a real nightmare. This was never connected to my computer and only a few times on my phone. When it was connected, the speed was too low and the support agent asked me to change my ISP, It became harder to accept such a stupid answer.

I was with Namecheap since 2019. Suddenly basic features like uploading a image in a post broke as well as uploading in the cPanel was broke for some time. I contacted them and for 8 days I told them the basic features uploads have stopped working, and the site was blocking many reputable websites like youtube.com post. So for 8 days I was transferred to agent after agent after agent. I finally said I intend to migrate to another host as they have failed miserably. Now on the 9th day I began the migrate to another host took less than 24 hours. Keep in mind my website is no longer with Namecheap at all now, yet they send me message after message for days they are working on my issue and the site is not on Namecheap. My point is they use generic responses and in many cases they are doing absolutely nothing except sending GENERIC BS Messages.

I have owned many domain names with namecheap over the years. They publicly mention that there is a grace period of 60-70 days after domain expiration, during which period I can recover a domain.

    Never again.

    Very bad support,
Told me I can sell the domain on an auction so I moved the domain to them and then they tell me the auction is clodsed to users.
I’ve paid already for the transfer and they don’t want to refund. Very slow response, and not professional.

From the answer seems Namecheap still don’t understand the problem.
They gave me false advertising that I can add my domain to the auction, the problem is not that they close the auction but the problem is with the false advertising and taking money for nothing.

    Hello Namecheap,

I am from Bangladesh, and I am a web designer. I have been using Namecheap since 2018 and have two accounts with you. I have purchased two bundle hosting packages for both accounts and received free domains.

However, I was busy and faced a long-term problem during this period, so I forgot about my Namecheap services. Now that I am resuming everything, I tried to register a new free domain with a coupon, but I received an error. I contacted your chat support, but their response was disappointing and unhelpful. They told me they could not assist me, despite my request for a new domain.

As a client, I expect assistance and polite communication when I encounter problems. Their attitude was unacceptable, and this has been a very bad experience for me. Because of this, I will not be renewing my services with Namecheap. I hope Namecheap’s market presence declines soon due to such poor customer service.

    Sincerely,

Really disappointed and moving my business elsewhere. I’ve been with Namecheap for 4 years. Moved all my domains from Godaddy to Namecheap. That’s over 30 domains.

I have my domains set up for auto renewal. Never had an issue until today. I noticed my domains haven’t been renewing. I’ve had to go in and do it manually for the past few months.

I tried to manually pay through Paypal and was refunded twice. After digging further, they told me I had to pay an activation fee equal to my renewal fee. It had expired because it didn’t auto renew….and I have to pay a fee to reactivate it after 4 days of it expiring? There’s a grace period. I know that. They know that and they wouldn’t budge on that extra fee.

I told them I’ll move all my domains again. They just apologize and didn’t offer any redemption. No problem.

Another reason I’m leaving is because they had a 2FA structure issue that is unsecure. The only way I could access my account is to get them to shut 2FA off in my account. Sounds safe, right? It was never fixed and no credit was offered.

For all the good they were before, they treat their customers like crap now. Avoid.

Namecheap uses Zenddesk of wich I am very fond of. Namecheap really wants to help you succeed and most supportofficers really try to make the most out of your experience as a new website owner. They also provide personal requirements and options where they can and within the company profiles limits of course. An example is the ability to manage your dns from your favorite location (as long as the other host has a good reputation of course). Also they provide several options for creating websites: from Wordpress to Website builder. Security is an important aspect for me and for Namecheap as well. You can customize your security settings. One tip: Namecheap could benefit from making explanimations on the several features the provide and how to use them (I think) – but for now: if you are not a developer you can just get the assistance and answers you need by making use of the excellent Namecheap support.

Someone falsely claimed a transaction on my website, threatening to report it. Within two hours, they hastily conducted a mere 10-minute investigation, solely observing their own activity on the site. Without any attempt to reach out or gather proper evidence, they abruptly suspended my website. Despite being a loyal customer for years with multiple domains, this incident marks the end of my trust in NameCheap. I’ll be seeking refunds via PayPal and severing ties with them indefinitely. Their unreliability and lack of integrity make them unfit to be trusted. Furthermore, their support is horrible.

Edit: The suspension of the hosting and domain has been lifted, restoring everything to normal. Consequently, the review has been updated. While the initial situation was unpleasant and challenging, I’m relieved and happy that it has been resolved.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience using Namecheap for hosting. If you’re looking for a reliable hosting provider with top-notch customer support and affordable pricing, I highly recommend giving Namecheap a try.

Purchasing a domain name from namecheap was easy as a piece of cake. The installation procedure had a good support guidance. The service team responded to every query raised.!

I have used Namecheap for the last several years as the sole provider for all of my domain names and WhoIs registration. I own 2 small businesses, a photography/videography company and a design company, and I have exclusively used Namecheap for my own companies domains. I also exclusively use Namecheap to purchase domains on behalf of my clients.

I’ve been using NameCheap now for many years and I am always impressed by the technical staff and their assistance with any setup issues. Thanks again!

24/7 rapid response chat support is making me feel confident in using these services. I have a lingering fear that I am going to get technically stumped and ruin something; so having a speedy chat support won me over before I was a customer. After becoming a customer and running into a technical issue on day 2, the chat support has made me more confident that I made the right choice in this company. The mass amount of documentation, illustrated guides, and videos are also helping me gain technical wisdom daily. They’ve made me feel that anything I try, they’ll be there to help, and all I have to do is ask. I’m getting better at my job because these people are great at theirs! Thanks for your help Logananth N.!

Very good value and amazing customer/technical support. I’ve never had a bad experience with the live chat technical support people, they always know their stuff and are quick to respond with proactive help 24 hours a day. Would recommend Namecheap to anyone!

We have 6 domains and premium DNS servers with Namecheap. We are getting a good price for domains and their premium DNS service is also excellent. On top of that, excellent chat support when the need arises.

You get what you pay for – and the clue is in the name – CHEAP. This is worrying organisation. They have this chat based support and sometimes it can take hours to fix things. If you add new services (easyWP and wordpress hosting) they might break your DNS records and not know how to fix them. It’s really frustrating. Access to the platforms could be faster because email is terribly slow if it works at all – I mean adding it to outlook as an IMAP account just would not work and they are unable to help (!).

I use Namecheap to manage domain registration for a portfolio of properties. Namecheap also handles DNS for some of these domains. Where we use another DNS service Namecheap makes it simple to switch to another DNS provider. There is also very little lag time when making DNS changes, so our development processes aren’t needlessly slowed waiting for DNS updates to propogate.

Namecheap provides a simple to use and cost effective way to register and manage our domains. It’s one of those services that just works and once you have it going you never really need to worry about it again.

Namecheap is a great hosting platform for simple sites and purchasing domains. Their user interface is simple and modern. Their cPanel is great and modern and using it to point DNS to the right folder is easy to follow. I use them exclusively to purchase new domains and searching for domain records. They have quick and no-nonsense support. For the price point, Namecheap is fantastic for hosting simple sites and the only domain purchaser i trust.

That NameCheap chat is such a life hack! I spoke with Faina and I cannot say enough great things about the amazing support provided. For me, it was the clear communication and willingness to help reconcile a pressing issue for me. I feel like I make a great investment in Namecheap because of the support. I’ve worked with other domain providers and hosts and Namecheap is the best at this!

I used these guys for many years, mostly because they don’t add a lot of crap to your cart by default when you buy a domain name. However I just had the highly dubious pleasure of buying a “premium” domain name (read domain squatting). They “forgot” to mention this is a manual process that may take up to 72 hours and require additional information so stay tuned for a Phone call! Yey. Obviously the domain has to change hands and they have to pay for it before they can fleece me. So if you are in a hurry, like most people are these days, stay away from any “premium” domains. I only bought it because a client insisted.

Horrible, there was a miscom and they erroneously charge my credit and refuse to refund the money back. The customer service lady, Diana F., was not compromising and refused to assist me on the refund. i went past the 120hour refund period by an hour and they said that’s why they refused to refund, when it was actually their fault all the while. i will never use namecheap again.

Every time I’ve asked for help with my domains or the private email, and Namecheap support has been quick, professional, and very thorough in their support. It has been a delight working with every one of the support employees over the years.

Barebones cheap products backed my minimal service that kept on passing me off because “chat agents” didn’t know how to do something. Then DNS records started disappearing. Wouldn’t offer refund. Wasted money and time!

First they will suspend your account under the guise of “resource abuse” without even speaking to you.
Then they will blackmail you to upgrade.
If you decide not to they won’t provide a backup of your account unless you pay for it. The blackmail continues.
And they will steal your domains too if you registered them with the company. They stole mine: altneu.me
Liars and thieves, that’s what they are.

Namecheap has good prices for their products but the standout for me is that they have always provided stellar customer service…despite me having just a handful of domains.
They will take care of the tech side if you ask for their help. I know most of the time I could muddle my way through the technical details of say re-issuing an SSL certificate but they make it easy and will guide you or even do it for you. Something complex and frankly bewildering is made simple and easy.

I have been with namecheap for over 5 years … and before that I was with godaddy. and I purchase and set up at least 1-2 sites every year.

I have never felt the need to leave namecheap and that’s only down to the fact that when I need someone to solve my problem .. there is always someone available to chat. And not just that … all their agents are knowledgeable and professional.

there is no way I am going back to godaddy or anywhere else as long as I can access the chat agents who do a wonderful job!

I have been a member of Namecheap customers since 2011 but one amazing thing that will make me stay here with Namecheap forever is how the handle their customer support.

No matter how difficult the situation is, you will get the right solutions.

Your teammates are patient and kind to teach us how to reissue our SSL Cert step by step repeatly. Even we are not familiar with IT issue, we can install SSL confidently.

I recently had to reach out to Namecheap’s support team twice, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Both times, they were quick to respond and incredibly helpful. What stood out to me the most was how friendly and understanding everyone was. It’s not often you find support staff who actually seem to care about your issue, but Namecheap’s team definitely did.

Their responses were prompt, and they didn’t waste any time getting to the bottom of the problem. What could have been a frustrating experience turned out to be quite painless, thanks to their efficiency. Plus, it was refreshing to deal with people who were polite and patient throughout the process.

Overall, I was really impressed with Namecheap’s support. They helped me out when I needed it, and they did it with a smile (figuratively speaking, of course). If you’re looking for a domain seller with solid support, I’d definitely recommend giving Namecheap a try.
