I foolishly decided to go with a 4 year contract with these people and 6 months in they outsourced all their operations and support to India with the exception of a few front people that will contact you when you review their services. Don’t bother. They are unable to perform the most basic functions of a website, they have no concept of time critical tasks and they do not regularly perform security and service updates to their systems (cPanel, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.). Keep yourself from hating your life and avoid incompetence this complete.

  3. I contacted them about their Black Friday sale and about migrating from my old A2 Hosting server to a new one. First they said that there shouldn’t be any problems and they can assist. I purchased the new plan. They came back with charging for migrating each domain, which is fine. I sent in the migration request. They came back with they won’t do it but I can buy a different, more expensive plan and then they can do the migration. Basically a bait and switch. Horrible service.

  5. I’ve been using A2 Hosting for almost 1 year. Before I purchased hosting, A2 hosting offered me 99.9% Uptime Commitment. Actually 99.9% Uptime is totally lie. My server goes down every month at least 4 or 5 times. I am getting too many complaints about Service Unavailable error from my customers. Actually A2 hosting messed up my website reputation. I am looking alternative hosting company right now. I wasted my time and money with A2 hosting for a year. If you are looking for a stable and 99.9% Uptime, don’t waste your time and money with A2 hosting.

  6. We purchased “Web Hosting – Turbo Boost Web Hosting” package from A2 Hosting. They’re not even able to solve simple database issues for their PostgreSQL hosting. This is the 11th day of our purchase and we’ve not been able to get any satisfactory resolution for our issues. All we get are arbitrary, vague and arrogant replies. The support staff sucks and their response sucks even more. We dialed the local India support number but no one responds; all we hear is their irritating IVRS which blabbers a lot and then gets disconnected. We had to make an international call to the US Support number. We spoke to 3 agents, every time a different one. All they could do was escalate the issue. Till date we have no resolution and this is very shameful on the part of A2 Hosting to fool around customers. This was not the A2 Hosting that I knew earlier. Earlier, they were very professional and now some jokers are just warming the seats doing nothing.

  7. I have the Core VPS “POWER+” from A2 Hosting. The VPS work great with a very high transfer speed. I run an MAGENTO 1.9 and a WordPress site. They are not MAGENTO experts. The company’s support answer quick in some hours but the first answers are incorrect. Every time they don’t see what plan I have and give me the answers for no core VPS. The biggest problem I have with A2 Hosting Core VPS is that they don’t have back up solution (daily/weekly), either with an extra fee. The only thing that it make me think about moving to another hosting company is the hosting company backup. I hope to add it soon in Cores too. I believe that many of their customers is worrying about the backup solutions.

  9. A2 was the biggest scam I’ve dealt with in a long time. Very dirty tricks throughout the year that I hosted with them. First, nothing is the price they advertise. Their 30-day guarantee doesn’t include fees, domain transfers, or domain registrations. And guess what — you can’t transfer a domain more than once every 60 days (per ICANN) so you can’t get rid of them once you get in. Meanwhile, they overcharge and don’t provide half of what basic providers do.

HOWEVER… Since the great outage, they have been completely nonresponsive.     First off all their servers are quick and my 2 wordpress/woocommerce stores run snappy!
    Even more importantly when I run into a problem, I open a ticket and only a few hours later I have a response and the problem is resolved. This is really amazing.

And at that time, we were doing different things with different types of sites but we still utilize Moodle for different things. We have been with them for years now. We have a very large site and for the price, it does really well. They just upgraded us to the solid-state service.     As an 82-year-old man with no prior website-building experience, I cut my teeth with one of the largest website hosts in North America. There, I created 14 websites, one of which won national recognition.

    But over time, they ceased to deliver the services I had become accustomed to, and having worked with A2Hosting for more than a year now, I will ultimately move ALL of those sites to this vendor.

  25. Have had ongoing issue with my site timing out and crashing for over a week now. I have been with A2Hosting for over a decade and usually got good service. It is taking multiple phone calls (each time they eventually go to voice mail after 15-20 minutes) to actually speak to a rep. Even when leaving a voice mail, it takes several days to get return call. All they will tell me via ticket system or phone call is “we are working on it”…totally inacceptable service lately.   26. I tried about a dozen different hosting companies and I had a problem with each one of them. Bluehost had a bad router and I was having to call them multiple times per day. I would tell their tech support to reboot the darn thing because my websites would all go down. It was happening often enough that I knew exactly what the problem was but they weren’t replacing it so I left. A2 was the first one where I didn’t have a problem so I stuck with them. I have also recommended them multiple times. They seemed to fit my needs the best. I’m on a reseller package, the standard one, and at this point, I’ve been an A2 Hosting customer for quite a few years.

  30. We got A2 Hosting for our business domain and we’ve already started with them. They have terrible customer service and it’s too hard to move our things around. We have email problems where our Outlook will automatically won’t work and it will ask for a password. And every time we ask the support team, we create a ticket and they reply with generic information. They’re quick to respond to nothing. They may have tested and told us that they were not having the issue, but our computers are having issues. That’s something they have to fix internally.

  33. To be honest I was a little frustrated with A2. I have been with them for a few years and have always been happy with their support, until recently. I had a critical (what I thought was) situation and reached out to support. By phone, email and support system. No response. I was thinking of changing hosting company. Then I was finally contacted by phone by Tom, a brilliant support tech. He was apologetic, friendly, professional and man was he knowledgeable. After about 25 minutes of digging deep into my issues he had them resolved to my satisfaction. Because of Tom I have decided to stay with A2. As an entrepreneur for over 50 years I understand the issues companies are experiencing with technology and staff these days. I guess A2 is no different. They are quickly working on resolutions and will be back up to their old, great support standards in no time. If you want a great hosting company I recommend A2.   37. One big issue is the lack of SQL server database management. I can see there’s an option for managing a MySQL database, but I can’t do anything with the SQL databases I’m using.   39. Chat is taking way way too long, second issue is that if you need someone to simply fix a problem on the site, you can’t. I understand that if it’s something they are not responsible for they don’t have to be involved, but my last host really went above and beyond to help fix issues when needed, no matter what or who was at fault.   49. I switch from SiteGround to A2 looking for better performance as advertised. But is one of my worst decisions in that topic. It impacted severely our website dropping visitors, raising bounce rate and SEO. We had 3000 visitors a day before switching and it dropped to approx 1000 a day. One year later we are still struggling to get back to where we were. I assume my part of not noticing the performance degradation before. But it was just an awful experience. I don’t desire this for anyone.

I received an email reply to my website inquiry within 24 hours, from a real person who was actually answering my question (not just a copy/paste of a generic response). I then had a suggestion for how they could improve their invoicing, and again I received a response from a real person, who said they would be forwarding my suggestion to the appropriate department–and again, within 24 hours I received a response from that other department, thanking me for the suggestion.

  54. I like to prefer people to buy a2 hosting because of some good features like regular site backup, money back guarantee, a2 optimized features and the speed is quite good but there are something which a2 hosting company can improve to do well in the market.

    First: the live chat session takes sometime 30-40 minutes of waiting. And customers are always in hurry so company should look into it.

    Second: sometime when we try to open a ticket and resolve the queries may take upto 24-48 hours of replying which I personally felt very frustrating. So company should look into it.

    Third: speed is good but not excellent someone can rely upon.
    So this is my honest review of a2 hosting.

  55. Buying from A2 Hosting: I wish the WHOIS privacy service had been broken out as a separate line item from the domain registration itself on the purchase website and the invoice, so I could have seen what I was paying for. That would have avoided confusion, and required fewer Support tickets.
