LiquidWeb Review - Website Screenshot

LiquidWeb has built its reputation around high-performance managed hosting backed by exceptional customer support. It’s long been a favorite among developers, agencies, and businesses that run mission-critical websites and need both speed and peace of mind. Whether you’re managing multiple client sites or handling sensitive data, LiquidWeb delivers on both security and performance.

Historically, LiquidWeb catered mostly to large-scale clients with premium budgets. But that’s starting to shift. The introduction of a $5 Cloud VPS plan has made it more accessible for solo developers and small businesses who still want enterprise-grade support without the enterprise price tag.

LiquidWeb’s infrastructure includes advanced DDoS protection, automatic backups, root access, and compliance-ready options for HIPAA and PCI. While not ideal for beginners or hobbyist sites, LiquidWeb excels for ealthcare providers and eCommerce sites that need reliable uptime, powerful servers, and professional technical support. If your site is business-critical or requires stringent data compliance, this host is a strong contender — especially now that it’s expanding its reach beyond the top-tier segment.

How reliable is LiquidWeb’s uptime and speed?

Yes, LiquidWeb is designed to deliver reliable speed and uptime, supported by several performance-enhancing features. The provider uses a built-in caching mechanism to improve page load times by storing frequently accessed data and reducing server load. It also uses HTTP/2, integrates with a global CDN, leverages WordPress-optimized servers, and offers generous server resources allocation to improve overall site performance.

Additionally, NVMe storage, available in most LiquidWeb hosting plans, provides superior read/write speeds compared to traditional SSDs, helping websites retrieve data quickly and perform well under heavy traffic.

Together, these features ensure strong performance and reliable uptime, even under demanding conditions.

Does LiquidWeb keep your websites secure?

Yes, websites hosted at LiquidWeb are safe. The hosting provider implements a range of security measures designed to protect your data and ensure website reliability. Key server security features include:

  • DDoS protection, which shields your site from malicious traffic.
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF), which blocks potential threats before they reach your site.

Daily backups are included as a standard feature, allowing for quick restoration of your website in case of any issues.

With these measures in place, you can trust that your website is well-protected against online risks.

How helpful is LiquidWeb’s customer support?

Is LiquidWeb’s pricing worth the value?

LiquidWeb is expensive, but its higher pricing aligns with the specialized, high-quality hosting services it provides. HIPAA compliant, PCI compliant solution) makes LiquidWeb a strategic choice for sectors with stringent regulatory requirements.

Is LiquidWeb a good option for beginners?

No. Being focused on upscale hosting solution, we do not recommend LiquidWeb for newbies.

Is LiquidWeb a good choice for small businesses?

LiquidWeb can be a suitable choice for small businesses seeking premium web hosting solutions. While their services might be at a higher price point, the comprehensive support, top-of-the-class server performance, and fully-managed hosting environment offer significant value. The full range of scalable hosting solutions available with LiquidWeb means businesses can focus in growth and not to worry about the technical backend of their website.

HIPAA- and PCI-Compliant Hosting Solution

Whether handling patient records or processing credit card transactions, businesses can rely on LiquidWeb’s poweful infrastructure to meet stringent regulatory requirements, ensuring that their operations remain secure and trustworthy.

Is LiquidWeb suitable for web developers?

Liquid Web is a strong choice for developers who manage client sites or need reliable managed infrastructure; but it’s not for everyone.

For agencies and freelance developers, Liquid Web’s fully managed hosting remove the heavy lifting of server maintenance. You get round-the-clock Heroic Support®, integrated developer tools, staging environments, and optional object storage for managing larger projects. This makes it an excellent platform when reliability and client satisfaction matter more than root-level control.

However, developers who prefer to configure their own environments or experiment with custom stacks may find Liquid Web restrictive. The platform’s managed nature limits server-level access compared to unmanaged providers like DigitalOcean or Kamatera.

In short, Liquid Web is best suited for developers who value stability, support, and scalability over complete control.

Can you host custom email with LiquidWeb?

Yes, you can host your own email accounts with LiquidWeb. This significantly reduces your costs by eliminating the need for expensive third-party email services.

How easy is it to get started with LiquidWeb?

New customer onboarding process is smooth and easy at LiquidWeb. As soon as payment is completed, you will recieve a welcome emails with all the necessary details to get started on their platform.

Moreover, LiquidWeb’s 59-seconds customer support policy guarantees that you’ll be connected to a support technician in under a minute, ensuring prompt assistance whenever you need it. Hence, even if you bump into any issues during onboarding (which you likely won’t), help is just one click away.

Does LiquidWeb offer a free trial or refund guarantee?

What features does LiquidWeb include?

Which control panel does LiquidWeb use?

LiquidWeb provides a custom-built control panel instead of cPanel or Plesk. The in-house panel manages domains, databases, email, and SSL certificates from a simplified dashboard. While it may lack some advanced tools of cPanel, the interface is often more user-friendly for beginners.

An advantage here is that you avoid the cPanel/Plesk licensing price hikes that impact VPS and reseller hosting customers elsewhere. Since LiquidWeb controls the software, pricing remains more predictable, and there’s less risk of unexpected billing changes down the line.

Where are LiquidWeb’s servers located?

Liquid Web operates data centers in the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Australia; serving key regions across North America, APAC, and Europe. These facilities are built for high availability and enterprise workloads, ensuring low latency and strong uptime.

Mid- and higher-tier hosting plans also include access to Cloudflare Enterprise CDN, which distributes content globally for faster delivery and enhanced security. Hosting close to your audience still helps reduce response times, but with Cloudflare Enterprise integration, Liquid Web provides consistently fast performance for worldwide visitors.

Does LiquidWeb scale well with traffic spikes?

Our research indicates that LiquidWeb scales well with traffic spikes – mainly because it combines automatic expansion and manual resource control across its hosting portfolio. On Cloud plans, resources expand automatically to absorb heavy visitor loads without downtime, and the support team can pre-tune environments if customers notify them ahead of major events.

For bigger workloads, LiquidWeb’s VPS, dedicated, and private cloud plans allow vertical and horizontal scaling. You can resize CPU, RAM, and storage directly from the portal, or deploy load balancers to distribute demand across servers. Standard VPS plans scale up to 6 vCPU and 16 GB RAM, which is lower than some prebuilt VPS offerings from providers like ScalaHosting, but still powerful enough for most SaaS platforms or high-traffic eCommerce sites.

On Managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting, LiquidWeb adds auto-scaling PHP worker containers, ensuring concurrent requests are processed smoothly during sudden bursts.

Taken together, these specifications and the company’s strong support model make LiquidWeb a dependable, highly adaptable choice for businesses expecting unpredictable or seasonal growth.

How does LiquidWeb handle backups and restores?

LiquidWeb provides daily backups and allows one-click restores. The backup system stores snapshots automatically, which means you can roll back to an earlier version of your site if needed.

Does LiquidWeb include free domain and SSL?

LiquidWeb does not include a free domain on its shared hosting plans. You will need to register your domain name separately with a registrar.

Every site hosted with LiquidWeb includes a free SSL certificate, ensuring encrypted connections and baseline site security at no extra cost. This saves users both the expense and the hassle of purchasing and configuring SSL separately.

Does LiquidWeb offer free website migration?

Yes, LiquidWeb offers free website migration. The migration service transfers your files, databases, and email accounts from your old host to LiquidWeb without extra cost. This saves time for beginners and reduces the risk of errors when switching providers. Free migration is especially useful if you run WordPress, WooCommerce, or other CMS-based sites that require careful handling.

How much does LiquidWeb cost?

LiquidWeb offers multiple hosting types, including VPS, Dedicated, Cloud, and Reseller Hosting. Prices vary depending on features like server storage, memory, addon security protections, and contract length.

LiquidWeb Plans & Pricing

Hosting Type Signup Price Renewal Price
VPS Hosting $20 – $55/mo $20 – $55/mo
Dedicated Hosting $59.7 – $564/mo $59.7 – $564/mo
Cloud Hosting $5 – $154/mo $5 – $154/mo
WordPress Hosting $4 – $16/mo $33.33 – $100/mo
Windows Hosting $121.1 – $191.1/mo $121.1 – $191.1/mo
Application Hosting $5 – $154/mo $5 – $154/mo

Note: Because hosting fees change regularly, always confirm the latest LiquidWeb prices on the official site before signing up..

What is LiquidWeb’s refund and cancellation policy?

Liquid Web requires all cancellations to be submitted via a verified support ticket. Once a cancellation request is made, services are terminated permanently and cannot be recovered, so users must ensure they back up all necessary files, databases, and emails beforehand. Services can be canceled directly through the Liquid Web Account Portal or by contacting their support team. Liquid Web does not provide refunds unless explicitly stated in the service terms.

Final verdict: Should you choose LiquidWeb?

LiquidWeb has long been known as a premium provider for high-performance hosting, particularly in the VPS and dedicated server space. Its infrastructure and support are built for serious workloads — and it shows in everything from fast response times to compliance-ready configurations.

What’s changed recently is pricing accessibility. With the introduction of their $5 Cloud VPS plan, LiquidWeb is now open to a wider range of users — including solo developers and small businesses that previously found its services out of reach. It’s a great way to experience enterprise-level support without the enterprise-level bill.

Support is a standout here. The “Heroic Support” team is fast, technical, and available around the clock. Whether you’re running mission-critical websites, HIPAA-compliant applications, or complex ecommerce environments, LiquidWeb brings the infrastructure and expertise you need.

For those who need maximum uptime, advanced features, and real human help when things go wrong, LiquidWeb is one of the most trustworthy names in the business. The new budget-friendly plans make it even more appealing for those who couldn’t justify it before.

Why we chose LiquidWeb to host Intently.co

With so many hosting companies on the market, why did we choose LiquidWeb for Intently.co, and how has the experience been?

    Background
Back in 2011, when we decided to build Intently, one of the first things we did was choose a web technology to base our platform on. We researched what some of the major platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc. used, and we settled on Ruby on Rails as our preferred tech platform. Next up, we needed to find a hosting company that would support Ruby on Rails to a good level.

    Hostgator for a while
We started on with Hostgator and they helped us to get a Linux environment up and running with a recent version of Ruby on Rails. This went well for about a year, but their support responsiveness really dropped which became a concern. A little while later, our tech stack required a new version of openssl and Hostgator were unable to respond to this need successfully. As a result, we were now forced to move to a new hosting company.

    Enter LiquidWeb
Having been forced to move away from Hostgator due to poor customer service and weak technology support, we started to research the market for a second time, and I’m so glad we did this. We found LiquidWeb. Not only did they have strong support for Ruby on Rails, but I was very attracted to their support claims – they talked about their Heroic Support capability.

    Heroic support
And was the support “heroic”? Honestly? Yes, it was and it still is! You can email them, raise tickets on their support site, and best of all you can open a live chat with them. They are highly responsive and technically very competent. And almost all support is free. Recently we sent them a detailed report relating to a new level of security compliance that we need to achieve, and LiquidWeb will charge us a small fee to make changes to achieve this, but everything else they have done for us has been included in the monthly hosting price.

    Security
As with any website, Intently is often targeted by bad actors. These can include rogue users looking to steal data or just make a nuisance of themselves, denial of service attacks, attempts to use our email system to send spam, and attempts to install malware on our server. LiquidWeb has a wide range of security packages available, and we have selected the server hardening packages for our needs.

    Linux skills
My team have the skills to work at the software level – Ruby and MySQL, and Linux scripting, but setting up a Linux server, Apache, and email routing isn’t in out skillset. LiquidWeb can take care of all of this at no extra cost, just the price of the hosting which is very reasonable.

    Server upgrades / downgrades
As Intently’s traffic and complexity grew, we needed to upgrade our servers to handle greater loads. With LiquidWeb, if you need to upgrade your server (for more power, memory or storage), this is easy to do at the click of a button, or you can do this via live chat. We have also had the situation where performance enhancements at the software level allowed us to downsize the server – again, we could do this at the click of a button.

    Ruby on Rails upgrades
We have also needed to undertake major upgrades to our software, such as moving to the latest version of Rails. This involved spinning up a second server on which to set up the new software versions and then upgrade the Intently code to match. Following this, LiquidWeb helped us to transition our database and all traffic routing to the new server with minimal downtime.

    Other support areas
Other areas where LiquidWeb have helped us include:

    PCI compliance
    Caching
    SSL certificates
    Blocking abusive IPs
    Installation of Linux packages
    Specialised backup solutions
    Vulnerability scanning
    Log file rotation
Email routings and relays – Intently has some very clever logic for connecting buyers and sellers seamlessly via email
    Subdomain setups
    WordPress setup
    Apache configuration
    Passenger setup
    Development site setup
    Port configurations
    DNS setup
    Installation of specialised Ruby gems
    Spam issues

    LiquidWeb pricing
Thankfully, LiquidWeb’s pricing is reasonable: cheap enough that a startup with a low budget can afford them, but priced high enough to give you confidence that you are paying for something of genuine substance and value.

    We recommend LiquidWeb
You won’t be surprised to hear that we strongly recommend LiquidWeb for hosting technology solutions like Intently. Intently comprises a 2GB database, complex site functionality (thousands of functions), over 100,000 web pages, and constant traffic to the site. LiquidWeb has enabled us to deliver this with sub-1-second response times on all but the most complex of pages, leading to a great user experience.

Awesomeness!! For years I have relied on LW. I usually have to stop and scratch my head on some of the issues that come up- but like always? We get a resolution. Dean was wonderful in deduction, communication and resolution of this issue. Many thank you’s!!

This technician (Dylan?) was professional, patient, understanding, and extremely helpful. If I was still in the software business, I’d try and steal him away for my company’s tech support department. I’d even give him the most comfortable chair!

He did a great job under most difficult conditions.

I talked with a great guy in tech support at Liquid Web today. I have the answer to my question which has to do with how much space we need.
I am editing my previous rating back to “5 stars due to the help he provide.
I had difficulty reaching someone to downgrade a plan and now have decided to keep the plan I have.

I am writing because of the terrible service they are giving me. The store has been down for 20 hours, because of them (the server’s hard drive was full because of the cache, logs… and they deleted files that were not supposed to). We have had to send everyone home, to the office, to the warehouse, with the losses that this causes… please, I have been here for 10 years and until today

I recently signed up for a “Navigating SEO’s evolution in the AI era” webinar with Liquid Web. I am new to marketing, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to get my feet wet. I tried to load in for about 10-15 minutes, and it wasn’t letting me in, so I was live chatting with someone from the website. They couldn’t find out what was wrong, so I searched them up on LinkedIn. Turns out they cancelled the webinar 45 minutes prior with no notification to anybody, and I ended up losing around 25 minutes waiting and messaging with a bot about when the meeting was taking place. I just wish I would’ve known it was cancelled when it happened, instead of finding out on my own time.

We have been a long-time client of Liquid Web and have always been impressed with their high quality and expedited service.

You cannot find a better service anywhere with Liquid Web’s level of tech support, superior servers and constant uptime. I have used some other hosting sites with a few other clients and they pale in comparison to Liquid Web. This includes all of the “Big” names in hosting. Beyond being fast and 99.999% uptime, the service is the most important factor for us because their team has solved several critical issues for us at all hours of the day and night. It is impressive the response time and the level of courtesy, patience, and attention to detail. They always go above and beyond. Recently we migrated a website and then a month later migrated our current server to an upgraded fully managed VPS which saved money and performed better. During both of these migrations the team fixed bugs we had with our website backups, Apache + PHP-FPM configuration/timeout issues, as well as offering security upgrades. We will continue to be long-term customers!

I am submitting the following for Andrew.

I asked Andrew to do about five things and he literally was able to do every single one better than I’ve seen done in a long long time. He has great customer service skills. However, what’s most important is he was able to find And solve an issue which happened to be our PHP which was causing excessive slowness on one of our sites which is on a dedicated server.

Not being tech specialists were perplexed as to what was wrong. That is a very frustrating feeling. Total weight off my shoulders. Hopefully, this review gets to him.

Our tech, Thomas K., did and incredible job making our transition from an old server to a new server seamless, and I mean seamless. I have been a part of a lot of migrations and this was the the easiest by far. My thanks to him and the incredible customer-driven team and Liquid Web.

Overall, your support is excellent and quick to resolve issue. I do suggest that a new server should have a number of common configurations ready for use instead of having me spending time to do the setup. Examples: SSL for host.mydomain.com and host.mydomain.com / nodeworx, Interworx login timeout setting, backup setting.

I am very happy with Liquid Web. I have, however, had months of email issues (bounce backs because of Poor Sender Reputation) since moving to Liquid Web. After working with Liquid web to deal with this and doing A LOT of work on my own, I believe the problem may have simply been due to having a new IP address without a reputation. I also had a lot of work to do in my client cPanels to make sure we didn’t have open ends where spammers could use our domains, which immediately caused a poor sender reputation. This was all new to me and quite challenging. It took way more brain power on my part than I thought I had. But I think we are at the end of it and now have a better handle on our email security. Liquid Web really does have great technical support. They are very quick to respond, but you also need to know how to implement their suggestions and work through tech issues yourself. They can do a lot of stuff on their end, but there is also a lot I had to do and learn.

LiquidWeb has been a great partner in our WordPress hosting business. I’d say that overall, their server services are better than most, but their support has definitely declined in the last few years. I really hope that changes. Support operators knowledge and motivation to help are wildly varied. The good ones that have been there a long time (such as the migration team) are excellent. But a lot of their general support folks seem to struggle, or take a really long time with basic requests. Also, they try to upsell a lot. It wasn’t like this a few years back. But all that to say, still a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Liquid Web is very responsive to the need of their customers. At least that was my experience. Not just once, but every time.
I have been a customer of Liquid Web for quite a few years, now, and I have no intention to going anywhere else.
Customer Service is a priority, especially in this kind of business, where most customers, don’t know what they are doing.
    My 2 cents.

The entire server setup was incredibly well managed by the Liquid Web Team. Marsha in particular was a tremendous asset in helping us migrate from an older server with 0 downtime. I am truly grateful!

We will be upgrading another one in the near future.

I have been a loyal client for Liquidweb for over 10 years, and I never thought of looking for an alternative despite their relatively higher cost, until this morning. I woke up and found that my server was not responsive, the support team automatically opened a ticket and “claimed” to be working on it. Having a complete server down was unheard of and I thought the great support team would resolve it in minutes. However, hours passed and the server was still down. No one was able to give me any meaningful explanation, or any plan to fix it. I tried to escalate my problem, speak to a manager but they wouldn’t connect me. After around 10 – 12 hours, they mentioned something about the server going down after a “resizing” operation, and then the admin on the ticket asked me if I have backups. No one is able to give me a full story of what happened until now. I’m already looking for a new host. I believe Liquidweb simply gave up their strong support team and hired a group of kids to work on people’s very sensitive servers. Good bye Liquidweb.

I can’t say how many times I’ve been saved by Liquid Web. They have an amazing knack for finding and hiring the best support team.

I’ve been in the website world for over 10 years and have worked with old companies, new companies, big companies and small companies and honestly I was about to shut my business down because of the horrible experiences with other companies in the hosting world, but then a friend told me about Liquid Web. I’ve been with them for about 6 years and I’m constantly amazed at how invested their support team is in not only helping you get what you need or to help resolve issues, but to do it in a way that respects your time.

Whenever I tell people about Liquid Web I always say that you feel like the people working to help you are part of your business and one of your team members.

That was no different this week when I had a chance to work with Sharon Kraft. I was needing some very specific help that required a very nuanced ability to troubleshoot and to understand systems. I thought I’d be able to do it on my own, but I couldn’t…and when I spoke with Sharon, she was very collaborative and supportive and was able to quickly navigate the troubleshooting process and resolve the issues.

I was then able to go to my client to let them know things were working as expected.

Seriously grateful for Sharon and her team and whoever hired her and trained her.

With all the other options out there for hosting, Liquid Web is the only solution that has the kind of access to talent and support that is needed for anything technical. Very grateful!

What happened to you Liquidweb? You were the best service in the business. I have had an account there for more than 10 years. My account was inactive for 2 years and I recently went back, Nothing has worked correctly in their VPS offering with Interworx from the start. It’s almost impossible to get points across by emailing back and forth on tickets. That used to work. There are long delays in response also. I manage another corporate account using Liquidweb and now no response from their migration dept about a new server even after repeated messages on the ticket. I have had to resolve my own personal ticket issues twice across 2 tickets because I feel that support doesn’t listen, even when I send a picture of the problem. Most recent: Ticket: 19739121, other server I manage – ticket number 1942482. It took a month to get an answer and any movement on server migration. Meanwhile we were paying for 2 servers – an extra cost. Looks like ticket 1942482 is near resolution and I am thankful for that. I sincerely hope that support once again returns to very good status. I personally won’t use support anymore unless I have to and I’ll get help from peers to resolve my issues, if any.

I recently made the move to the LiquidWeb servers from another company. I have been between servers for the last few weeks and I have received offers in my email for help moving my sites over to the Liquidweb servers. I ran into a php coding issue that I was having trouble seeing the solution to for one of my sites. I made a ticket not expecting a whole lot of help but maybe a direction to go in. The agent Sharon Kraft dove into my site to see if she could find the issue in my php code. Doing that she found s temp solution from what I had been missing. It was great having a second eye on this issue since I was headed in the wrong direction. Her prompt assistance and willingness to get her hands dirty in my old code saved me lots of time and agony. Your support, especially from Sharon, has made me happy that I am making this transition to the new server provider Liquidweb.

Hosting on LiquidWeb has always been a delight. Been with these folks for the past 9+ years, have used their Cloud and dedicated solutions. Unparalleled tech support round the clock, great server performance and uptime. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Email platform for premium business services is sub standard to say the least. Zero support without pass phrase that will not be generally circulated throughout the company. Tons of error messages and blocked emails with no explanation. No integration to Gmail or other for iphone.

LiquidWeb may not be the cheapest hosting company, but they have proved to me time and time again why they’re worth the price. Their support staff is always there to help with whatever might go wrong with my server or websites. Yesterday it was Rob T. who answered my slightly panicked call for help. He spent the next several hours working out the issues that had brought my server to its knees, keeping his friendly disposition and sense of humor throughout the process. Everything is working perfectly again. Thanks Rob! And thanks LiquidWeb!

I’ve been helped by Kohl on numerous occasions, and have to say that while I’ve always had good support in general, Kohl’s support and suggestions are exceptional! If possible, when I call for support, I ask if Kohl is available, because I trust the level of support – and the suggestions – he offers.

Do not, under any circumstances, lose him. He is a large reason that we choose Liquid Web to host our sites.

After weeks of not having access to 3 very important websites on my server, and exhausting every possible cause and solution, Kohl went over and above, thinking outside the box, identifying what was common to these URLs and found a solution. I am so grateful for his knowledge and persistence.

I called Liquidweb support about an email delivery issue and spoke with Miles Zimmer in Linux support. He was awesome.

Very knowledgeable and professional, and helped with the email issue, then he very patiently helped work through some other issues relating to server security.

I really appreciate Miles expert help. He deserves a raise! Really. I’m serous, give him a raise!

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I had an issue that I wasn’t sure of why or how even happened. Liquid web support fixed my issue in a fraction of the time that I had already spent trying to figure out what even happened. I migrated to Liquid web mainly because of the best support I have ever experienced.

I kept asking Liquid Web about a problem I knew existed, with my SSL certificate, and persisted, knowing it could be fixed. Although it took a number of stabs at the problem, the issue was fixed to my satisfaction, due to the diligence of the Liquid Web technical staff.

This is my second review for Liquid Web.
Recently a new developer that is working for me, noticed that the processors are too old, (year of production ~ 2012), so now I hosted to a new hosting.

When I mentioned the oldness of the processors to one of the support members of LiquidWeb. He told me in January 4, 2020 that the processors that I am using have reached the end of service in June 30, 2022.

I hosted 2 websites on LiquidWeb for little over 5 years. In this time frame I opened countless tickets, complaining about the speed of the website. And in none of these tickets the technicians told me that I have the option that I can change the processors if I wanted. I only learned about it, because I asked about it.

Now I am paying one third of what I was paying before and have my websites faster.

So one wonders why they are so expensive? Because of the customer 7/24 support? That was not so great too. The account manager concept was a joke (constantly changing/non responsive, etc.) and their guys made a lot of stupid mistakes in the 5 years. Yo can read my other review on it, on trustpilot (I am not allowed to link it, but it was on Jan 28, 2023).

So long story short, this is a rip off that should be avoided.

LiquidWeb support leaves even urgent tickets left unattended for days. Even if requested they allowed most of my domains/websites SSL expire. Liquidweb support tickets usually look like this:

“My name is “some exotic outsourced name”, and I’ll be assisting you today. Please allow me some time to look into your request and I will update you when I have more information.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns in the meantime.”

    Several hours later:

“Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately, I have reached the end of my shift. So, I will hand off the ticket for further investigation and one of our admins in the shift will soon look into the issue and update you further. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further issues, questions, or concerns. We’re delighted to assist!”

    About an hour later:

“My name is “some name” and I have picked up this ticket to assist you. Please allow me a few moments to look into this for you.”

Then repeat the end of shift again and again!

Finally days later someone attends the ticket, but they do something and fail to do it right!

They allowed all my SSL certificates to expire! And on the chat they ask me am I sure all the SSL expired after I clearly stated and asked them to take a look to see that they all epxired. It’s like a mocking game. This is what LiquidWeb has become.

I’ve worked with hosting and vps companies for 20+ years. Never have I had service like what I’ve had from Alex. We’ve inherited a site on a vps and are working through some tech debt and support has been amazing at helping us fix problems. Instead of “you should change your config here”, or worse “you should check your config”, support has identified and fixed multiple issues for us. And fast. Some were legit infrastructure issues but some would have been punted back to us with limited help with other companies. I’m impressed.

It’s difficult to express how AMAZING Liquid Web has been to my company.

We have had a website for 25 years, and I have NEVER encountered a company with your incredible support and dedicated service.

On Christmas Day, on a whim, with a complex issue dealing with wordpress, I called Liquid Web Support. Within 5 minutes, a support specialist ‘Joese’ solved the problem!

What kind of company can possibly do this?

I will tell you…. it’s Liquid Web! How do you do it? This is not the first time your company has provided amazing 24 hour support for my business.

  38. Liquid Web is our main host for hosting all our websites. We have a 10 Publications on WP network site and quite a few web applications. We also use this same server to add up client websites. Liquid Web server is used across the whole org. We have taken the Cloud VPS 32 GB server. Works good so far. The support from Liquid Web is awesome.

Liquid Web is suitable for serious users who have high end web applications or critical business oriented websites. cPanel and WHM comes out of the box with almost every server you buy. And if you don’t have time to manage your own server, Liquid Web will suit you well. Their support is awesome. They help beyond the scope of the support. I had to migrate almost 25 big sites to another Liquid Web server, the support guys made it so easy for me.

I have been using Liquid Web for over ten years. The reason why is because I advertise no downtime to my clients. I am able to do this because of the Liquid Web team of support engineers. When I have issues, I can get live help within a few minutes. They never fail to get my server(s) back up and running. The support service alone is outstanding. I am a senior level Cisco network engineer/architect and I know what it means to provide excellent service to your customers.

We use Liquid-Web for our website hosting across our entire organization. We have used other web hosts before, but Liquid-Web has been great and there hasn’t been any downtime or speed issues with our websites. Liquid-Web makes it easy to change DNS settings, set up cron jobs, change server settings, and it is even compatible with Let’s Encrypt, so adding SSL certificates is incredibly easy. In short – recommended!

We use Liquidweb to host our website and our clients’ websites, as we are a web design+ web hosting company from Argentina. We have dedicated servers with them and resell our services with web hosting included. We offer web design “from zero”, sites with prebuild scripts like Wordpress, Moodle, etc. We also have our own build email marketing system that our clients use to send email marketing campaigns using their own websites and emails are sent with little chance of being tagged as spam.

Liquid Web is one of the few tech companies that put customers first. Their support is top notch. I can always get a tech knowledgeable in my stack that is fast and friendly, day or night. Technical support is great!
I talked to Miles and Rob and got my HTTPS and WSS set up in about 20 minutes.

Bluehost took 2 days and never completed the task.
A2 Hosting took days to respond to a ticket and never completed the task.
DailyRazor responded slowly and it took several attempts and only completed HTTPS.

I would rank Liquid Web in the top 3 of web hosting providers.

More than once I have created a tech support ticket with some degree of urgency only to have it remain “open” for up to 10 hours. All I got from the Chat “human” response was “sorry, I’ll escalate your ticket.” There is NO EXCUSE for this kind of poor service. I lost customers because they couldn’t install an SSL certificate two years in a row. I’m about to lose another one because it has taken 12 hours to find out why a customer’s site takes more than 45 seconds to load.

Stan is ALWAYS the BEST agent I’ve ever dealt with — at any hosting service over the past 20+ years. You should have trainees shadow him to learn how to do it right. Been hosting with Liquid web for years. Did not start with them, I was with Wiredtree. LW bought them out. Support used to be stellar and top notch, but then something happened, read some other outfit bought LW. Now support is outsourced overseas with heavy accented people on poor quality VoIP. Seriously does not rate the higher premium they are charging. I usually do not have to call upon their support much, but I am in the middle of migration which has been really slow and unresponsive. It took about 23 phone calls before I could get someone who wasn’t heavily accented and shoddy voip (crackling, noisy, feedback, echo). Not at all impressed and quite POed. My time IS VALUABLE. That said, have to agree with another reviewer here about their billing practices especially towards the end of a prepaid package, that’s another sore spot. THEY WILL BILL YOU ERRONIOUSLY AND OVER PRICED & for things not authorized. Had I known how far the new owners have diminished a valuable part (customer service) I would have went elsewhere for probably half the price. I sure miss Wiredtree and the old Liquidweb.

Pay a lot more for less!!

Since I wrote the initial review, I got hit with another overbloated invoice. I have yet to talk to an American on all phone service requests. I do not take kindly to the support folks using common English names when I know that is not their real names as they are speaking in broken/accented English. It is deceptive to me as much as their billing is. I despise this hosting provider now. I doubt the authenticity of many latest reviews on this site. I too can pay for 5 star stellar reviews too if I choose to be dishonest.

The only thing that matters to me is support. This company pitches 100% U.S. based support. I have called support at least 7 times. NOT ONCE did I get someone in the U.S. NOT ONCE!

If you’re willing to suffer with the mind-numbing experience of offshore tech support, you might as well hire another hosting company and save the premium that these people charge for supposedly offering a superior experience.

Your tech rep Oscar Donovan crushed it! We had our site not loading SSL on the homepage but all the other pages, SSL worked. Oscar, jumped into A/B testing and looking into the code, within minutes suggested we look at removing or replacing the video on our website header. He said at times the video source or video name itself can cause a rejection for SSL security. So while on the call I turned off the video, refreshed and BAM the site loaded with SSL. Not too many ppl would look that deep, know what to look for and nail the issue right out of the gate, Give this kid a raise and promotion, he will be a top tech for your company!!! A+

We have since changed the video name and everything works – thanks Oscar!

Throughout the order, installation, and configuration process the entire Liquid Web Team has been outstanding. I’d like to give special recognition to Chris Cunningham, Dominic Nixon, and Marsh (on the Windows support side), who assisted with ticket#15456066. It has been an exceptional onboarding experience and the support from Marsha in assisting with a Site to Site VPN configuration was exceedingly rare. I’ve dealt with a lot of vendors and a lot of teams over the years as an IT manager, this is one of the best run customer support companies I have dealt with. So, thanks to all of you and if you ever need a referral or someone to relay their experience to a potential customer, I am more than happy to help.

I feel like when something is down, I will know, which means that it can be fixed if needed. And, if there’s something that could be better, they will suggest it. Although I can “talk the talk” a bit about the tech stuff that LiquidWeb does, I definitely can’t “walk the walk” and I feel like they make it about as easy as it can be for me to run my business without being a techy person.

No matter which hosting company you take, you always, at one time of another, need to contact support to get some help because of issues (either email, server being down, etc.).
