Nexcess Alternatives to Consider
In case Nexcess is not right for you, below are some alternatives to consider. You can also find more options in our hosting reviews page (full list).
Nexcess has cost my business countless clients now and who knows how much money. I’ve had a ticket open with them, unable to send out emails – every person I talk to says “I promise I’ll watch this ticket and stay on top of it until it is resolved” and that has NEVER actually happened. I’ve had to reply, reach out via chat, and call nearly every day just to get some attention to my ticket, and then I get the same empty promise and zero resolve. Additionally, it’s ALWAYS a different person so I don’t know why they’re making these empty promises in the first place. And they ask for clarifying info, I send it, then I get a response from someone else who clearly hasn’t read the ticket. I’ve asked to be escalated, zero response. My ticket has gone 2 days without any movement at times, because unless I’m hounding them, nothing happens. And for some reason, Nexcess can’t seem explain to me nor figure out why I am unable to send out emails with a new account, and I’m just left without any answers or actual help. It’s a shame too, because I run a new website agency and Nexcess was going to be my suggested hosting solution for my clients, but it certainly won’t be now, they lost themselves a lot of potential business. Instead now, I’ll be advising my clients to avoid Nexcess at all costs, there are plenty of hosting solutions out there with good products and support. Not that I think Nexcess cares, every experience I’ve had with their support since Liquid got involved has been absolutely awful. They’ve just gone totally downhill and don’t seem to care to try to do better. They are truly harmful to businesses. It’s been over a week, my ticket is still unresolved (and I’ve been told it’s not on my end, it’s on theirs), and I’m still unable to reach my clients, and this is still damaging my business. It’s honestly baffling.
NOTE: I was finally able to get in touch with ONE support person, Marco Jacobson, who’s finally doing something to help, and he discovered that their server IP was blacklisted due to another user sending out spam, and bumped up my ticket. He deserves major kudos for his diligent efforts to get this resolved. The world needs more Marco’s.
